This release adds an optional account (so your days and coupons follow you across devices), coupon rewards, and in-app and push notifications. The core function - automatically replying by SMS to missed calls - is unchanged.
SMS content, call log and contacts are still processed only on your device and are never uploaded to our servers. Only account data (email, account ID, day counters, coupon codes) is stored on our servers - and only if you sign in.
| Data | Where |
|---|---|
| SMS content, call log, contacts, chat history | on device |
| Email address (Google) | Firebase |
| Account ID | Firebase |
| Remaining days / access-expiry date | Firebase |
| Coupon codes and redemptions | Firebase |
| Purchase token | Firebase |
| Notifications (account-related) | Firebase |
| Push token (device ID for notifications) | Firebase |
Our Privacy Policy was updated for the optional account and notifications: it now clearly separates on-device data (SMS, calls, contacts) from account data stored on Google Firebase (email, account ID, day counters, coupon codes, notifications and a push token).
See the full Privacy Policy. Account deletion can be requested any time from the deletion form.
Notes for the Google Play review of this version:
MerkurSMS automatically replies by SMS to missed calls and continues the conversation based on user-defined rules. The SMS, call log and contacts permissions are used ONLY for this core on-device function; that content is processed locally and is never uploaded to our servers. This has not changed in this version. New in this version: an OPTIONAL Google sign-in. It is not required to use the app (guests get a 3-day trial; signed-in users get 14 days). Sign-in lets us tie the user's access days and coupon codes to their account so they are restored on another device. When signed in, we store on Google Firebase only: the account email, a Firebase user ID, the access-expiry date and day counters, coupon codes, and a purchase token (to prevent double crediting). We never send SMS content, call logs or contacts to any server. Coupons and buying day packs require sign-in. Purchases use Google Play Billing (one-time consumable "merkur_days_31", no subscription). Purchases are verified server-side: before granting days, our server confirms the purchase token with the Google Play Developer API. Background reliability: after the SMS and call permissions are granted, the app offers ONCE (optional) a battery-optimization exemption (REQUEST_IGNORE_BATTERY_OPTIMIZATIONS) so the missed-call auto-reply runs reliably even when the screen is off. It is not required, it is asked only once, and the app keeps working if the user declines. Notifications: the app shows in-app notifications and can send push notifications (Android 13+ POST_NOTIFICATIONS, optional and on by default) for coupon activity, news and offers. Firebase Cloud Messaging is used only to deliver these; the user can turn notifications off at any time. Account deletion is available in-app (Settings > Account > Delete account and data) and via a web form linked on our store listing. How to test sign-in / coupons: 1. Open the app, tap "Sign in with Google" and choose any Google account. 2. Settings > Day coupons > "Create a code" (e.g. MARKO). 3. With a second account, enter that code under "Enter a coupon code" to add days. A code cannot be redeemed twice or by its owner.
| Podatak | Gde |
|---|---|
| Sadržaj SMS-a, pozivi, kontakti, istorija | na uređaju |
| Email adresa (Google) | Firebase |
| ID naloga | Firebase |
| Preostali dani / datum isteka pristupa | Firebase |
| Kodovi kupona i aktivacije | Firebase |
| Token kupovine | Firebase |
| Obaveštenja (vezana za nalog) | Firebase |
| Push token (ID uređaja za notifikacije) | Firebase |
Politika privatnosti je ažurirana zbog opcionog naloga i obaveštenja: sada jasno razdvaja podatke na uređaju (SMS, pozivi, kontakti) od podataka naloga na Google Firebase-u (email, ID naloga, brojači dana, kodovi kupona, obaveštenja i push token).
